With a diploma, you are prepared for entry-level jobs as an assembly welder, maintenance worker or welder’s assistant.

Often, those who enjoy working with their hands, hold good hand-eye coordination and can stay focused for extended periods thrive in this industry. HACC’s program could be the perfect starting point if:

Our program allows students to gain the hands-on training needed in this profession. Using real equipment and learning from top-notch faculty, you will obtain the basic techniques, including:  

  • OSHA safety practices for industrial environments
  • Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
  • Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
  • Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
  • Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
  • Oxy-Fuel Cutting/Welding/Brazing (OFCWB)
  • Plasma Cutting (PAC)
  • Air Carbon Arc (CAC-A) Gouging
  • Blueprint Reading and symbol interpretation

In fact, you can experience hands-on training in the nearly $1 million welding lab at our York Campus and have the chance to weld on a range of materials, including carbon steel, aluminum and stainless steel.

After graduating from our program, you will be able to: 

  • Use relevant welding processes to join metal components in all positions
  • Perform thermal cutting and gouging on metal components
  • Read and interpret welding symbols used in metal fabrication

The Welding Diploma Program is designed to lead you directly to employment. However, if you wish to transfer your HACC credits into the Welding Certificate Program, and the Industrial Technology AAS program, let us know!

You can complete the entire diploma at our Harrisburg Campus.through on-campus/in-person instruction.

 

Yes! We offer many scholarships through the HACC Foundation. Each scholarship has specific eligibility requirements. To learn how to apply, please visit hacc.edu/Scholarships.

You can enroll in classes in the spring, summer and fall. Please visit our website to submit your application anytime. When you do, please include program code 0500 with your application. This code is unique to the program.
