Black's career path has included a number of executive positions at the college level. Most recently, she served Marshall University as assistant dean for enrollment management. She also served as senior vice president and chief academic officer for Delta College.
In addition to holding both a doctorate and master's degree in education administration and leadership from Northern Arizona University, Black holds a master's degree in management and finance from Hood College and a bachelor's degree in art history/dance.
Black is an active community participant who has earned many honors and distinctions for her leadership. She also is the author of various papers and presentations and has facilitated more than 80 individual training and workshop sessions at various educational and nonprofit organizations.
