Children learn by doing. HACC has developed a day of culinary discovery for children in grades 3 through 8 that puts the food pyramid into action. Young learners will discover the basic skills in the kitchen in a unique one-day learning opportunity at the Harrisburg and Lancaster Campuses of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College.

Culinary Discovery Day is stuffed with four hours of age-appropriate instruction, hands-on application, and most importantly, a fun learning atmosphere. Participants will practice the rules of kitchen etiquette, investigate the components of a nutritional diet, and learn innovative methods of creating delectable treats - sure to please any chef.

Culinary Discovery Day is offered at the Harrisburg Campus of HACC on Saturday, April 21 from 8:30am-12:30pm. The second session is at HACC's Lancaster Campus on Saturday, April 28 from 8:30am-12:30pm. Cost is $25 for either session. Enrollment is limited.

Registration and information is available by accessing HACC's noncredit class schedule at www.hacc.edu/noncredit. Information and a detailed brochure also may be obtained by calling either the Lancaster Campus of HACC at 717-358-2901 or the Harrisburg Campus at 717-780-2414.
