TYP will present their 2007 Theatre Outreach production, Aladdin, a participatory play by Moses Goldberg, in the Rose Lehrman Arts Center theatre on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College. Two public performances running without an intermission will be presented on Saturday, April 28 at 1 and 3:30pm.
The production is also this year's outreach program for registered school groups Monday through Friday, April 23-27.
Directed by Brenda C. Eppley, HACC Associate Professor of theatre, TYP's presentation provides many opportunities for direct audience participation. The audience will be transported to the Arabian Desert where, under a flowing tent, they become part of the "play within a play" and share in the magical adventure of Aladdin. Costume design is by Paul Foltz, Adjunct Theatre Instructor. Lighting design is by Lori Friedlander, Theatre Technical Director. The set design/construction is by David J. Olmsted, Scenic Designer/Production Manager. Sound design is by Tamara Heagy. The Stage Manager for the production is HACC student, Mike Statler.
The Aladdin cast is comprised of HACC students featuring (in alphabetical order) Josh Arnold, Ryan Hays, Vida Joines, Martha Mosquera, Adam Newborn, and Tristan Stasiulis.
This year's Outreach program, for pre-registered school groups only, is designed for ages 5 years and up and will begin at 9:30 am in HACC's Rose Lehrman Arts Center theatre. The live school performances will be immediately followed by our popular "talk-back" session with the cast, director and crew. Registration is still open and schools can call Linda Dale at 717-780-2604 or find information and downloadable registration form on the TYP website www.hacc.edu/typ. The cost is $4.00 per student. One chaperone per ten students is required but no fee is charged for the chaperones.
