At the "One-Stop" night, potential students can complete and submit an application for admission to HACC along with a $35 one-time non-refundable application fee. All students who submit a completed application form and payment will be entered in a drawing for $250 worth of textbooks and supplies from the HACC-Gettysburg bookstore.
New applicants to the college will be able to schedule or complete placement exams at the one-stop event. HACC does not require SAT scores or entrance exams, but new students need to complete placement testing in math, English, and writing skills to determine their eligibility to register for various levels of college courses.
Academic advisers will be on hand to guide students through the registration process for fall classes, which begin Aug. 20. Students can choose to enroll in daytime and evening classes at the Gettysburg Campus as well as classes online and at two locations in Hanover. Financial aid staff will discuss options for scholarships, loans, tuition payment plans and other forms of financial aid.
Students who want to complete the entire application and class registration process in one night are advised to arrive as close to 5 p.m. as possible. Students arriving later still will be able to finish portions of the application and registration process and can return to the campus at a later date to finalize the process.
"We're looking forward to meeting our new students and welcoming them to the friendly, student-centered campus at HACC-Gettysburg," said Katie Kough, assistant dean of student services at the campus. "Whether they're here to earn college credits that can transfer toward a bachelor's degree at a four-year school, or to earn an associate degree in a career field, we'll be here to answer their questions and help them get started on their college education."
