Set in the French Riviera, the Jazz Age lives on in this light, romantic spoof of 1920’s musical comedy. Polly, an English heiress attending Mme. Dubonnet’s Finishing School, falls in love with Tony, a delivery boy. Things get complicated but a happy ending is in store for all.
The show’s many memorable roles include the flirtatious Mme. Dubonnet, her boy-crazy students and Polly. With its catchy tunes, period dances (including the inevitable Charleston) and winning sense of humor, “The Boy Friend” is a sparkling, tongue-in-cheek 1920’s romp in the spirit of “No, No, Nanette.”
“The Boy Friend” cast is comprised of students from HACC and other regional colleges and high schools, as well as veteran Theatre Harrisburg performers featuring (in alphabetical order) Amanda Abrom, Alec Brashear, Natalie Gan, Laura Gingerich, Ciara Harper, George Heigel, Jennifer Hillman, Cathryn Hintze, Stacie Johnsen, Amanda Krepps, Jonathan Lawson, Rachel Lewis, Andrew Lutzkanin, Kevin Pry, Ashton Ramos, Adam Newborn and Ken Robinson.
