Harrisburg, PA -- HACC’s annual Student Honors Exhibit in Photography will be on display Nov. 24-Dec. 5 in the Rose Lehrman Art Gallery on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
In addition to the free exhibit, the public is invited to a reception for the students from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, in the gallery.
Images for the exhibit are submitted by students taking black and white, color and digital photography classes. The work is juried by HACC’s photography faculty, who select the most outstanding work. Images range from the traditional to the experimental.
The HACC Photography facility was dedicated in 1985 and has been consistently rated by independent consultants and publications as one of the nation’s finest educational college photography complexes. This $1M facility runs along the entire length of the John N. Hall Technology Center at the Harrisburg Campus. A brand new digital photography lab with state-of-the-art Mac computers and peripherals will open in Spring 2009.
HACC photography students have won dozens of national honors, including a Pulitzer Prize nomination and highest honors in the Best of College Photography Competition.
All gallery events are free and open to the public. Hours are 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 5-7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. For more information call 780-2435 or e-mail Kim Banister, gallery curator, at kebanist@hacc.edu.
