Partnership with four-year institutions offers new opportunities to students
June 30, 2009
LANCASTER – Lancaster residents who want to earn a bachelor’s degree need look no further than the Lancaster Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
This fall, HACC is partnering with Elizabethtown College, Immaculata University and Penn State to offer programs on the Lancaster Campus that lead to a four-year degree – all offered at a convenient, familiar location within commuting distance.
HACC graduates and college students with the sufficient number of college credits and who meet admission requirements are eligible to enroll in the program.
Students are invited to an Information Night 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, in the East Building, room 203, at the Lancaster Campus, 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike. Representatives from Elizabethtown College, Immaculata University and Penn State will be available to answer questions.
Elizabethtown College will offer an accelerated bachelor’s degree in business administration and Immaculata University will offer an accelerated degree in health care management. Students in an accelerated program complete their course work in less time.
Penn State, through its Lancaster Center, will offer a bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies, a degree that will be of benefit to those in education, psychology, and human services.
All the classes are taught in the evenings by faculty from the respective institution. Students will pay the tuition rate of the institution in which they enroll.
The program also includes:
-
Access to services such as admission, financial aid and registration by the respective college or university at the Lancaster Campus.
-
Advising and tutoring at the Lancaster Campus.
-
Library resources at the Lancaster Campus as well as electronically or in person at the main campus of the respective institutions.
