Uncovering the Greatest Secrets of World War II - Until recently, many of the military intelligence activities conducted during WWII remained classified. A rich and undocumented history related to the interrogation of German, Italian and Japanese prisoners of war has been the subject of research by the National Park Service in Virginia. A site near Mount Vernon, referred during the war only as P.O. Box 1142, was the location of several top-secret military intelligence programs. Find out more during this presentation. The course will be offered from 6:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, in Gettysburg. The cost is $29.

Eisenhower and Patton: Comrades in Arms, Comrades in History – This presentation explores the long professional association and close friendship of Generals Dwight Eisenhower and George Patton. They shared experiences with the fledgling U.S. Army Tank Corps during World War I, challenges of the turbulent interwar years, and eventually emerged as the principal military leaders of America’s first battles against the Axis powers in North Africa during World II. The two forged a close bond as they served with the premier soldiers of their era, participated in historic events, and ultimately assumed the responsibility for leading America’s mightiest army. The course will be offered from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, in Gettysburg.
