HACC TheatreWorks presents 'A Company of Wayward Saints'
Late October performance of this 2-act comedy includes mischief, mayhem, tricks -- and treats

Harrisburg, PA – Take a motley crew of penniless actors trying to make it back home, throw in a wealthy benefactor willing to pay the freight then add a catch – they must tell the story of Mankind from start to finish. Can they put aside petty jealousies long enough to succeed?
Find out when HACC TheatreWorks presents George Herman’s “A Company of Wayward Saints” at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30 and 31, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, in the Rose Lehrman Arts Center on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
Director Marnie Brennan has assembled a cast of nine actors who delightfully entertain the audience with this two-act comedic salute to the 16th century Commedia style of acting. In Act One, the characters, led by Harlequin (the Manager) played by Bill McCarthy, approach the challenge with petty fighting, arguments and jealousy. It seems the actors no longer have a passion for acting or with working with each other, so they walk off the set!
By Act Two they realize that the only way they are ever going to get home is to band together.
With a very simple set, the group manages to bring to life an oftentimes hilarious and sometimes serious play.
In addition to Harlequin, the characters include Scapino (the Acrobat) played by Kyle DiRaddo, Pantalone (the Old Man) played by Bobby Belche, Colombine (the Nag) played by Sydney Daviston-Atkins, Tristano (the Lover) played by Brock Meadath, Dottore (the Learned) played by Ben Roberts, Ruffiana (the Tart) played by DeAndrea Chatman, Isabella (the Sweetheart) played by Vida Joines, and Capitano (the Warrior) played by Juan Carlos Morales.
Brennan, senior professor of theatre at HACC, is artistic director. Theatre Instructor Dave Olmsted is the scenic designer. Lori Friedlander, HACC theatre technical director, is the lighting designer, and Costume Instructor Paul Foltz is the costume designer. Stage managers are Sara Mullins and Jessica Ross.
The production is for audiences 15 years old and older. Tickets are $10 adult and $7 student/senior citizen, available at the RLAC Box Office at 231-ROSE (7673) or online at www.LiveatRoseLehrman.org.
