Panel discussion to feature women business owners from Dauphin, Cumberland and York counties
May 11, 2009
YORK – Whether you have been in business one year or 20 years, growing your business is a constant challenge, especially during difficult economic times.
For five area female entrepreneurs that challenge has been met in different ways, with different results.
During the upcoming Women’s Talkabouts scheduled for the York Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, these women from Dauphin, Cumberland and York counties will offer their insight to how they have found success.
“Make it Happen—How to Grow Your Business” will be the topic of the free, informal networking session noon-1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 28, on the campus at 2010 Pennsylvania Ave. Participants are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch. HACC will provide a dessert and beverage.
This is the first panel discussion planned for the Talkabouts series, said Lisa Steffen, a business counselor with HACC’s Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies. Steffen will pose questions to the panel, as well as take questions from the audience.
“We are excited to feature female entrepreneurs who represent businesses at different stages of success,” she said. “From one end of the spectrum to the other, I expect their responses will motivate our participants to think outside the box in regard to the current economy.”
Participants on the panel include:
-
Amma Johnson, Johnson Marketing Group, Harrisburg
-
Judy Orcutt, Quilligraphy, York
-
Janet Young, Over the Teacup, Camp Hill
-
Leigh Hurst, Feel Your Boobies, Middletown
-
Judy Bono, Gardener of Owl Valley, York
