LANCASTER – If you are looking for work or want to change careers, you may find the silver lining in the clouds of today’s economic news at the Ninth Annual Spring Job Fair on March 25 and 26 at the Lancaster Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
A set of different employers will be on hand each day for the free event, which will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the community room of the East Building on the campus, 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike. Many offer on-the-spot interviews for full-time or part-time positions, entry level or professional, and internship and mentoring opportunities in a range of professions.
The job fair is an opportunity for job seekers to meet industry leaders in their field and to find out about potential jobs and internships – and a great way for employers to tap into Lancaster County’s labor pool to find just the right employees.
“Our job fair is a great opportunity not only for HACC students, but also for alumni and members of the community. We’ve grown to the point where visitors can speak with 55 different employers each day,” said Lorie Sonnen, assistant director of career services at the Lancaster Campus. “We’ll have many company representatives from Lancaster County but we also have a good number of them from Dauphin, Lebanon, York and Chester counties and even Maryland looking to hire qualified individuals.”
HACC representatives also can provide guidance about workforce development and training programs available at the Lancaster Campus for visitors who want to explore additional professional advancement.
Last year, 110 companies from a spectrum of Lancaster’s vast workforce interviewed some 750 potential candidates. A complete list of employers is available online at www.hacc.edu; click on Lancaster Campus. For more information, call Sonnen at 358-2985, or Ricole Herman at 358-2290.
