Harrisburg, PA — The HACC Wildwood Singers will present selections ranging from medieval madrigal numbers to traditional and pop songs from Africa and Israel during the group’s spring choral concert.
“Spring Fling: Fun and Games” is scheduled for 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, in the Rose Lehrman Arts Center theatre on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College. This concert is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of Tina Bakowski, associate professor of music, the singers will perform the madrigals “Now is the Month of Maying” by Thomas Morley, “O Primavera” by Claudio Monteverdi, “My Bonnie Lass, She Smelleth” by P. D. Q. Bach, and Eric Whitacre’s “Animal Crackers.”
The concert also includes the traditional Zulu wedding song, “Ikude,” and a modern a capella arrangement of the 1973 Israeli hit song, “Yo-Ya.”
Soloist Amber Zambrana is featured in the Broadway hit, “Popular,” from the award-winning musical “Wicked.”
The members of the Wildwood Singers are Hope Cook, Matthew Darhower, Jennifer Fetterhoff, Michael Gibson, Ashanti Guerrero, Jared Heisey, Hannah Mattingly, Kay Morgan, Judith Nagata, Christopher Ruble, Mya Seibert, Sky Tabb, Jessica Trout, Heather Weaver, Luke White, Chelsea Woods, and Amber Zambrana.
