Harrisburg, PA —The hilarious mood-swinging musical revue performed by the Four Bitchin’ Babes will tickle audiences at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at the Rose Lehrman Arts Center at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
Start with four richly gifted singer-songwriters, add 3/4 cup married life, four kids, three cats, one piano, four guitars, one rockin’ purple bass, a dollop of sharp social commentary, and a pinch of PMS. Set this on the road to tour for 17 years, throw in a hot flash or two, and you’ve got Hormonal Imbalance…A Mood Swinging Musical Revue!, an estrogen-fueled, hilarious new show that celebrates the best of babes, boys, and botox, starring the Four Bitchin’ Babes.
“Hormonal Imbalance” promises to be a night of comedy as four gifted female singer/songwriters address the lives of American women in song. The group is comprised of the talents of Sally Fingerett, Debi Smith, Nancy Moran and Deirdre Flint, women who have travelled together and have evolved as wives, mothers and women. These four outrageously funny and multi-talented musicians, examine and ultimately celebrate the lives of today’s women. With sorority sister chemistry, The Four Bitchin’ Babes perform original songs and stories offering both poignant views and unbridled comedic commentary on the joys and dilemmas of everyday life. With heavenly harmony, they share women’s struggles to balance careers and family, chocolate obsessions and low carb inner peace, CNN and TV Land, as well as the trials of dealing with insufficient pay, inadequately cut swimwear and PMS.
Debi Smith – Playing guitar, piano, and Irish bodhran (drum), Smith has received seven Washington Area Music Awards (Wammies) including Best Vocalist, Artist, and Album. Smith has participated in over 20 albums and compilations. Her “Red Bird Red” solo album was chosen as one of the year’s best by The Washington Post, and her fourth solo album, “Cupid,” was lauded as “... nothing short of amazing” by Music Monthly Magazine.
Sally Fingerett - Raised on Chicago’s South Side, Fingerett now lives in Columbus, Ohio, with her second husband and two teenage sons which keep her on her toes and fully clothed at all times. Having released five solo and seven Babe CDs, she’s participated in 12 additional CD compilation projects. Fingerett has also taken to the stage as an actress, performing with the National Touring Company of the Vagina Monologues. As a comedy writer, Sally’s essays have been published in various publications including Random House’s collection of contemporary women’s humor, “Life’s a Stitch”. She has written music for film and TV and has sung radio and TV jingles such as Butterfinger, Hallmark, and Sears.
Nancy Moran - Declared “Songwriter of the Year” by the Virginia Sound Achievement Awards and WXGI Radio, Moran has recorded four solo CDs, including her latest titled “Something Old, Something New.” Moran resides in Nashville, Tennessee, with her husband, Fett, and their two cats, Fluffy and Suzie Q.
Deirdre Flint - Lauded by The New York Times, Billboard Magazine, and The Christian Science Monitor, Deirdre Flint’s songs hang out at the intersection where folk music and stand-up comedy collide. Flint has a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Pennsylvania and is writing a book about education. After a week of cooking school in New York City, she can make a flaming dessert -on purpose - and she can put it out, too. Though she is still single, she does not own a cat.
Pre-show events include a free Girl Nite Out at 6 p.m. featuring chocolate fountains, wine & cheese, chair massages and shopping!
