Dec. 8, 2010
HARRISBURG - Jayne B. Abrams, left, executive director of Institutional Advancement and the HACC Foundation, receives a $3,000 contribution from Cheryl A. Shields, community relations manager for Waste Management in Greencastle. The donation is part of the Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, an initiative of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development, that provides businesses with a tax credit for donations to nonprofit scholarship or educational improvement programs such as HACC’s College in the High School program.
The funds will assist high school juniors and seniors who are taking HACC courses at their high school, which when completed, gives them credit toward high school graduation and a start on college requirements.
