LANCASTER – The Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing has granted approval to the HACC-Lancaster Campus to begin rolling admissions in the evening nursing program starting with the spring 2011 semester.

“The part-time evening nursing program provides students the ability to juggle family and job responsibilities to meet their education goals,” said Betsy Musser, Director of Nursing at HACC-Lancaster Campus. “Students previously could only enroll during the summer semester, and if a student had to withdraw from a course they would need to wait a year to return.”

Brad Wolf, Executive Dean of Academic Affairs at HACC-Lancaster Campus, said, “This is another way HACC is providing additional educational opportunities for nontraditional students to obtain a degree.”

HACC-Lancaster Campus currently has 229 full-time students in the associate degree nursing day program, 116 in the part-time associate degree evening program, and 32 in the practical nursing program.

Classes begin Jan.12 for the new associate degree class that will meet in the evenings. Due to time constraints, paper applications will be accepted during September.

The deadline to submit a clinical application is Sept. 30. Mail or drop off the application at the HACC-Lancaster Campus nursing office, Main room 215, on the campus, 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike.

An application and more information can be found at www.hacc.edu, search Health Careers.
