Lebanon, PA – HACC’s Lebanon Campus is participating in a fund-raising effort in response to philanthropist Frank Dixon’s generous offer to match monetary gifts for relief to Haitian citizens.
This week, members of the campus Student Government Association (SGA) prepared packets of information about the drive to be distributed throughout the campus to the nearly 1,200 students, as well as faculty and staff.
“Mr. Dixon has been a generous benefactor at the campus, providing thousands of dollars in scholarship money to help Lebanon County students achieve their goal of a college education,” said Keanan Barbour-March, Student Life Specialist at the campus. “This current fund-raising effort is an opportunity for the HACC-Lebanon students, faculty and staff to ‘pay it forward’ by responding to Mr. Dixon’s establishment of a $100,000 matching fund to help with the need of those suffering from the devastation due to the earthquake in Haiti some 15 days ago,” said Barbour-March.
Every dollar raised will be matched with funds from the Francis J. Dixon Foundation, up to $100,000, and given to the Mennonite Central Committee, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Lancaster County.
