LANCASTER – While HACC’s Lancaster Campus celebrates it’s 20th anniversary this year, the campus’ career services marks a milestone of its own: the 10th year of the annual job fair for HACC students and Lancaster area residents.
The job fair takes place 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, March 24-25, in room 203 of the East Building at the Lancaster Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike. Job seekers and career changers can meet with industry leaders and find out about jobs and internships while employers can tap into Lancaster County’s labor pool to find just the right employees.
A set of different employers will be on hand each day for the event. Many offer on-the-spot interviews for full-time or part-time positions, entry level or professional, and internship and mentoring opportunities in a range of professions.
“Our job fair is a great opportunity not only for HACC students, but also for alumni and members of the community. This year we have more than 50 employers scheduled over a two-day period,” said Lorie Sonnen, assistant director of career services at the Lancaster Campus. “We’ll have many company representatives from Lancaster County but we also have a good number of them from Berks, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lebanon and York counties looking to hire qualified individuals.”
HACC representatives also can provide guidance about workforce development and training programs available at the Lancaster Campus for visitors who want to explore additional professional advancement.
Last year, companies from a spectrum of employers met with more than 1200 potential candidates. A complete list of employers is available online at www.hacc.edu; click on Lancaster Campus. For more information, call Sonnen at 358-2985 or 358-2290.
