GETTYSBURG – “What’s New in Neuro Nursing?” is the subject of a day-long conference for nurses this fall at HACC-Gettysburg Campus.
The conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, in The Robert C. Hoffman Community Room (130) at the campus, 731 Old Harrisburg Road. The cost is $69 and includes continental breakfast and lunch.
“We are hoping area nurses will take advantage of this local offering,” said Marilyn Teeter, campus director of nursing at HACC-Gettysburg Campus. “It will be a great opportunity to hear about new approaches to nursing care for individuals with neurologic disorders, as well as a chance to ask questions to better understand trends.”
Sponsored by the campus Nursing Leadership Council, the conference will cover traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries; describe up-to-date nursing care and pharmacologic therapy for chronic and degenerative brain disorders such as Parkinson’s and dementia; and identify current therapies for stroke and tumor patients.
Attendees may use this conference to meet the continuing education requirements for license renewal by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
The deadline to register is Oct. 1.
