GETTYSBURG – The Student Government Association (SGA) at HACC-Gettysburg Campus is hosting an Artists’ Day to allow amateur and emerging artists to showcase their artwork while promoting artistic diversity and culture.
Artists’ Day will be held from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 18 and 19, in the Robert C. Hoffman Community at the campus, 731 Old Harrisburg Road. The two-day event is open to HACC-Gettysburg Campus students, faculty, and staff as well as local high school students and community members.
“We want to provide an opportunity for artists and for the students, staff, faculty and community members who visit the exhibit to learn about and share artistic styles, interests and motivations,” said Isaac Patterson, SGA president, who is coordinating the event with Julie Kimple, SGA secretary.
Artwork and portfolios can be laid out on tables in a designated area. Artists may bring their own table coverings and easels to display their work.
Participating artists will be assigned a six-by-2-foot table to display their work, although additional space may be requested. Artists may exhibit their work for one day only or leave their artwork in place for both days.
Set up begins at 9 a.m. Oct. 18 and 19, and the displays must be removed by 3 p.m. on Oct.19.
