Annual event April 13 and 14 at Harrisburg Campus and Midtown site
March 8, 2011
HARRISBURG – If you’re looking for a venue where you can meet and hire employees for your company, mark April 13 and 14 for the annual job and internship fair at the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
The first day features companies looking to fill non-trades positions from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, in the C. Ted Lick Wildwood Conference Center on the HACC-Harrisburg Campus, One HACC Drive.
Industrial and manufacturing companies can meet with prospective employees in trades and technology 1-5 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at Midtown 2, 1500 N. Third St.
Last year, 60 companies from the Harrisburg region interviewed job candidates, including HACC students, alumni and members of the public.
“The job and internship fair is an important and worthwhile event for employers looking for talent,” said Howard Alexander, career counselor at the Harrisburg Campus. “It provides the opportunity of finding the right people for full-time and part-time positions as well as internship and mentoring or apprenticeship opportunities.”
“Companies looking to fill positions in the technologies and trades are invited to participate at HACC’s Midtown site the next day on April 14,” said Cindy Ernharth, career counselor. “This would include the fields of architecture, engineering, mechatronics, HVAC, welding and computers, like computer networks, web and geospacial information systems.”
The April 14 event also includes a presentation at 5 p.m. about two new “green” programs, alternative energy and green building/architecture technology scheduled to start this fall.
The deadline for employers to register is Wednesday, March 30.
