LANCASTER – Whether you want to explore history, try your hand at artistic endeavors, investigate the paranormal or myriad other opportunities, the HACC-Lancaster Campus has something for everyone in March.

The lineup includes:

“Beginning Quilt Making,” 7-9 p.m. Wednesdays, March 2-23, at a cost of $85. Learn the popular art of quilt making while you construct a small project of various quilt blocks. Hand-piece quilt blocks and prepare a completed project for quilting. The class also will learn about hand quilting stitch and finishing techniques. A list of supplies will be included with the confirmation letter.

“Clayworks for Beginners,” 6:30-9 p.m. Thursdays, March 3-April 17, at Randolph Art Studio, 1317 Brunnerville Road, Lititz, at a cost of $199. The fee includes a text, use of tools, clay, glazes, two firings and other materials. Students will receive basic, yet comprehensive instruction to transform clay using a potter’s wheel. Various techniques from clay preparation to finish glazing are taught.

“Glass Fusing, Intermediate,” 6-8 p.m. Mondays, March 7-21, at a cost of $65, Create decorative jewelry pieces or try a fused bowl or plate in this class. Students must have prior glass cutting or fusing experience. Tuition includes use of tools and molds. Students may purchase glass in class, and there will be a firing charge. Fees will be collected the first day of class, cash or check only.

“Acrylic Painting II, Traditional,” 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays, March 29-May 3, at a cost of $149. This class is a continuation of basic acrylic painting. It focuses on translating the student’s response to a subject by exploring still life, landscape, portrait and contemporary painting.

“How to be a Wine Snob and Never Have to Admit It!” 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays, March 8-29, at a cost of $139. This basic skills class will allow the wine neophyte to decipher the most intimidating subjects with ease, from wine lists and proper glassware, to food pairing and sensory perception. Students will have the opportunity to sample, compare, contrast, and discuss examples of varietals at each class. Note: Students must be over 21 to attend.

“French Foods Made Easy,” 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at a cost of $50. Students in this hands-on class will use easy recipes to tackle Coq Au Vin, Quiche Lorraine, sea bass with tomato, tomato and fennel bisque and roasted fruit crepes with butterscotch sauce.

“Invest Like Warren Buffet,” offered 6:-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, March 1-22, at a cost of $85. Learn the basics of stocks and the market in this interactive course. Students will select a stock and follow it through the class, applying techniques to the selected stock. No prior finance or investment experience necessary.

“Beyond the Basics of Selling on eBay,” 6-9 p.m. Mondays, March 28 and April 4, at a cost of $65. Have you been looking to improve your eBay selling skills or even start an eBay business? This new course will teach you how to start or grow your current eBay business with compelling listings, listing tools, marketing, listing management and shipping. A student manual ($35) will be available at the first class.

“Spiritual Enlightenment,” 9-11:30 a.m. Saturdays, March 12 and 19, at a cost of $55. Using the book, “Eat, Pray, Love” as a guide, students will explore how to find greater meaning in life through self-exploration.

 “Communicating and Cohabiting with Spirits,” 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at a cost of $25. This class takes an in-depth look at presenting paranormal evidence. Learn more about how to cohabitate or initiate cohabitation with a spirit or entity, and the different ways of communicating with spirits.

“Starting a Spiritual Investigation Team,” 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at a cost of $25. Learn how to design, organize and effectively run an organization involved in paranormal activity and investigations.

“Perfect Pictures,” 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays, March 1 and 18, at a cost of $45. You can discover the key to perfect pictures. Develop your photographic eye by learning basic camera principles, rules of composition and how to identify image. Either 35mm or digital cameras may be used.

“Spanish II, Conversational,” 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 30-May 18, at a cost of $139. . Students can use this opportunity to learn basic skills to satisfy personal growth or enhance employment qualifications. The course is designed for students at least 16 years old. Textbook information, if required, will be listed in the confirmation letter, and should be available at the campus bookstore or online.

“Calamities During the Gilded Age,” 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, at a cost of $25. Examine some of the disasters, such as the Great Chicago Fire, the Johnstown Flood and some lesser-known disasters of the late 19th century.

 “Butterfly Garden-Native Plants,” 6:30-8 p.m. March 16, at a cost of $25. Join this new class to learn more about gardening to attract butterflies with native plants. Grow what they need, and butterflies will come.

“Kids Room,” 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 12, at a cost of $35. This new class will give students tips for creating areas that inspire, encourage and entertain young people.

“Older Home Preservation Process,” 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at a cost of $35. This class is an introduction to the preservation process of an older home. Learn how to plan projects and view several repair demonstration methods using a variety of products and tools.

 “Energy Conservation for the Older Home,” 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at a cost of $35. Learn how to make older homes more energy efficient without compromising the building’s history, including the use of green products. Students may bring photos of their energy problem areas for possible inclusion during discussions.

“Entertaining Spaces: Indoors,” 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at a cost of $35. Explore what goes into entertaining indoors, including setting up the space, shopping, prepping food and drink, and activity ideas.
