HARRISBURG — The Fred Garbo Inflatable Theater Co. and its playful characters take the stage at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, in the Rose Lehrman Arts Center on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
Ticket holders can attend a free inflatable party in between shows with a bounce house, balloon artist, face painting, juggling and more. The party will be from 2:30-4 p.m. and is included with ticket purchase.
Starring Fred Garbo and Brazilian ballerina Daielma Santos, the unique show has been performed around the world, breaking barriers of age and language through physical comedy, dance, juggling and creative inventions that inflate. The large and colorful blow-up shapes dance, shimmer, balloon, deflate and bounce.
Fred Garbo Inflatable Theater Co. has won the praise from audiences around the globe. With appearances on David Letterman’s Late Show, and performances at the Kennedy Center, the show has been stated as “helium light and hilarious” by The New York Times.
Garbo has been the man inside "Sesame Street's" Barkley the Dog; and on Broadway he was the chief juggler in the hit musical "Barnum." And for the last 16 years he has been inventing and performing with inflatable costumes and props.
Brazilian ballerina, Daielma Santos had been the principal dancer with the Opera Paulista Company of Sao Paulo, but when she saw Garbo's show, she insisted on trying on the inflatable suit and has been a part of the company ever since.
