Phi Theta Kappa honor society members to hold annual sale of prom dresses, gowns
Feb. 9, 2012
GETTYSBURG – Members of Phi Theta Kappa honor society at HACC’s Gettysburg Campus are seeking vendors and donations of clean and gently worn gowns for the third annual prom dress sale.
“Dresses for a Cure” will be held from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, in the Robert C. Hoffman Community Room at HACC-Gettysburg Campus. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and the Phi Theta Kappa scholarship fund.
Vendors who would like to showcase their wares are invited to participate. A door prize must be submitted by each vendor. The deadline to apply to be a vendor is March 10.
Phi Theta Kappa organizers also are seeking donations of clean and gently worn prom, bridesmaid and cocktail dresses, handbags and jewelry. Donations will be accepted until time of the sale. High school students from around the Adams County/Hanover region take advantage of the event to shop for spring high school proms.
Gowns will be priced at $20 or less, and accessories will be available for less than $10. Dressing rooms will be available. Door prizes will be awarded, and hair stylists, make-up consultants, a seamstress, and other vendors will be available for consultations.
To donate a garment, be a vendor, contact Wendy Brubaker, faculty co-adviser of Phi Theta Kappa, at wabrubak@hacc.edu or Sally Showers at ss2079@ship.edu.
