HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Ultimate Spin Basketball Camp returns to HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, for area boys and girls ages 9 - 15 years old. The camp runs 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 23 - 27, 2012, at HACC’s James Evans Physical Education Center on the Harrisburg Campus.

NIKE Freestyle Performers Chris "Mr. Handles" Franklin, Arnold "A Train" Bernard (also a former Globetrotter) and Luis "Trikz" DaSilva will present the fundamentals of basketball and their message on the importance of education and positive life choices to young people in the Harrisburg region. Camp leaders offer presentations on education, preparation for college and healthy lifestyle choices, too, emphasizing the importance of balancing education with sports.

Franklin, a Harrisburg native and Susquehanna Township High School graduate, travels worldwide as a NIKE freestyler, working with young athletes to understand athletics, positive outlook and good work ethic. Franklin believes in the importance of bringing the experience to young people in this area and was instrumental in bringing the camp to his hometown.

"This is an opportunity for teens to come out and enjoy the unique experience of the Ultimate Spin Basketball Camp right here," said Franklin. "This camp differs from other camps because it focuses on the players development - on and off the court."

The NIKE Freestyle Performers are best known for the NIKE commercial, "Freestyle," which was described by New York's The Village Voice as popular "hoop-hop commercials that seem more like music videos than sneaker ads."

Registration for the camp is open to boys and girls ages 9-15 and costs $125. Very few spots are remaining. For more information, contact the Harrisburg Area Community College at 780-2474.
