Steve Dolbin to exhibit sculpture at HACC's Rose Lehrman Art Gallery
Exhibit opens Jan. 16 with artist reception Jan. 24

HARRISBURG –The Rose Lehrman Art Gallery at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, will host a sculpture exhibit by Steve Dolbin from Wednesday, Jan. 16 through Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013.
Dolbin is a sculptor, performance artist, art educator and chair of the art department at Shippensburg University. Works in his exhibit will feature materials and structures that Dolbin believes suggest erosion as well as growth in society.
“The breadth of my work deals with the spiritual dialogue humans once had with the physical landscape and the more economic/resource-oriented relationship that has come to dominate the present,” Dolbin said.
Dolbin will speak about his work in a lecture on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at 5:30 p.m. in Whitaker Hall, Room 214. A reception will follow in the Rose Lehrman Art Gallery.
The artist’s background includes a master’s degree from Pratt Institute. He has exhibited throughout the United States and Great Britain and is the recipient of many grants. Dolbin’s work is included in numerous private and public collections. Articles concerning his work have appeared in The New York Times, Sculpture Magazine and others.
Dolbin previously taught at The University of Massachusetts, The University of Connecticut, Amherst College and Pratt Institute.
