May 16, 2013, event celebrates achievement of eight HACC students

LANCASTER – A dinner celebration was held May 16, 3013, for eight students at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College selected to participate in the summer 2013 scholarship program at Bucknell University.
Recognized were HACC-Gettysburg Campus student Kristen Weatherly, a general studies major; HACC-Lancaster Campus students
Paola Gonzalez, a social sciences major; Phillip Martin, a biology major, and Jeremy Watterson, a psychology major; and HACC Harrisburg Campus students, Michelle Kastriba, an honors studies major; Faith Lingle, a business administration major;
Olivier Ouedraogo, a mechanical engineering major, and
Janet Zimmerman, a communications major. The event was held at the HACC-Lancaster Campus.
Now in its seventh year, Bucknell’s summer scholarship program gives qualifying HACC students a taste of campus life that includes a six-week, in-residence program at the university’s Lewisburg campus where they will complete two courses and participate in extracurricular activities.
The students will return to HACC this fall to complete their associate degree and apply to transfer to Bucknell to earn a bachelor’s degree with a full-tuition scholarship that includes tuition, room and board.
