YORK, Pa. – HACC’s York Campus is hosting a career and transfer fair on Tuesday, Dec. 3 and Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Glatfelter Community Room of the Cytec Building, 2161 Pennsylvania Ave. in York. The career and transfer fair is free and open to HACC students, alumni and York area residents.
Job seekers can meet with industry leaders and find out about jobs and internships while employers can tap into York County’s labor pool to find just the right employees. More than 40 different employers will be attending.
Representatives from seven regionals colleges and universities will be available to answer questions about their programs and admissions process.
“This career and transfer fair is intended to help HACC students – and the general community – with the job search process and with connecting to employers,” said Tim Barshinger, career services coordinator at the York Campus. “The employers will have part-time, full-time and internship options available.”
Many employers offer on-the-spot interviews for full-time or part-time positions, entry level or professional positions and internship and mentoring opportunities in a range of professions. “Job seekers are encouraged to attend the event and are reminded that dressing professionally, bringing resumes and preparing the ‘sell themselves’ to employers is of the utmost importance,” stated Barshinger.
HACC representatives also can provide guidance about workforce development and training programs available at the York Campus for visitors who want to explore additional professional advancement.
