HARRISBURG, Pa. - The HACC Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works to raise private contributions in support of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, has approved more than $359,000 in funding for projects critical to the mission of the College. This funding is made possible through generous contributions from individual and organizational donors.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) Program Equipment Improvement

The purchase of the GE Logic E9 will provide the students in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) Program with access to new technology utilized in the clinical areas for diagnosis of pathology in the patient. Additionally, the DMS program accreditation mandates that programs teach new technology. The purchase of this machine will aid in maintaining compliance with this requirement. |

Mechatronics Lab Buildout |
In fall 2015, HACC’s Gettysburg Campus will be poised to train mechatronics technicians when the campus launches its Mechatronics Certificate Program. The campus will build out approximately 2,900 square feet for a mechatronics lab and classroom space. The program will cover crucial topics such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certification and the troubleshooting of programmable controller, pneumatic, electrical and heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. |

Paramedic SimMan SimView™ Video Debriefing Project
|
SimView™ is an integrated debriefing solution that captures and records audio and video of simulation and other learning activities. This will allow faculty to more effectively document and provide debriefing of SimMan simulations in the clinical lab and existing ambulance simulator. |

The HACC Foundation’s sponsorship support of the Live at Rose Lehrman Artist Series enables it to meet the ongoing mission of presenting live touring professional dance, theatre and music events. |

Non-Invasive Monitoring |
The current healthcare guidelines for respiratory therapy, paramedic and nursing have changed in regards to non-invasive monitoring. The requirement is to now use graphs in addition to numbers to verify patient stability. By adding this equipment as an expansion in training capabilities for the College, we can help bridge that gap and allow HACC health professions students the time and individualized attention necessary to learn how to properly care for patients utilizing this type of technology and equipment. |

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Membership Assistance Fund |
The Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) membership assistance fund provides financial support for those students who might be academically eligible for PTK, but who are economically disadvantaged and cannot afford the fee needed to become a member. PTK is the international honor society for community college students. |

The HACC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was established in 1985 to raise funds for HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College. In fiscal year 2014-15 alone, the HACC Foundation contributed close to $2.3 million to the College in support of financial assistance for 2,479 students, innovative academic programs, state-of-the-art training equipment and modernized facilities.
Donors to the HACC Foundation include individuals, community organizations and corporations. In fiscal year 2014-15, more than 935 donors contributed almost $2 million to the HACC Foundation.
