New Look for the HACC Foundation Unveiled
The HACC Foundation, the non-profit organization established in 1985 to raise private and corporate revenues in support of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, has a new HACC Foundation website and logo.
The design and coding of the new website, launched today, July 1, 2015, were initiated in spring 2014 as a HACC Capstone Web Program project in which students created websites for non-profit organizations.
Students Nate Richardson, producer; Kendra Yoder, designer, and Ray Fisher, developer, met with HACC employees to develop the goals, layout, color scheme and overall functionality of the new website using College-provided content. The students are now HACC alumni, each with an associate degree in Web development and design.
“The HACC Foundation has been an important supporter of the Web program in recent years,” said Carl Petersheim, Web design professor.
“Since 2011, and through seven different grants, the Foundation has provided nearly $45,000 for software and hardware purchases to advance the program and provide the latest technology for our students. In addition, many of our students were able to finance their degrees with the help of Foundation grants and scholarships. It’s our great pleasure to thank the Foundation by providing a leading-edge website to advance its mission,” Petersheim said.
“To have students that the HACC Foundation supports invest back into the Foundation is an incredible gift,” said Linnie S. Carter, Ph.D., APR, vice president of college advancement at HACC and executive director of the HACC Foundation. “The new website is a tool that will help the HACC Foundation grow its funds to further support HACC students and academic programs. It will also help us to communicate more effectively and efficiently with our donors. We are truly grateful for this gift.”
To accompany the new website, a new HACC Foundation logo was designed. The new logo helps to visually connect the HACC Foundation and the trademarked HACC logo.
