HACC Students Are Winners Of Annual Golf Fundraiser Mark Your Calendars for the HACC Foundation’s Frank J. Dixon Tournament for Scholarships at HACC on Sept. 28, 2015

Aug. 25, 2015
HARRISBURG, Pa. – Tina Inabnitt, a student at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, is able to continue her education because of the generosity of donors, business sponsors and the community who support the HACC Foundation’s annual Frank J. Dixon Tournament for Scholarships at HACC.

Now in its 19th year, the golf tournament is one of the premier scholarship fundraising events in Central Pennsylvania. Thanks to the generosity of event sponsors, since 1996, the golf tournament has provided more than $1.4 million in scholarships for approximately 3,330 HACC students.

This year’s tournament will be held Sept. 28, 2015, at the Hershey Country Club’s East Course. Registration starts at 10 a.m., buffet lunch is at 11 a.m. and shotgun start is at noon.

There’s still time to show support for students with financial need who are enrolled at any of HACC’s campuses in Gettysburg, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Lebanon and York. Opportunities include golfing and numerous levels of event sponsorships.

Tina said, “School is very important to me, and being the first in my family to attend college is such a great accomplishment…Knowing that I am so much closer to my dream with the help of this scholarship truly is a blessing. I thank you and my family thanks you.”

The golf tournament is an opportunity for individuals to support HACC students, network and have fun.

Greg King, a member of the HACC Foundation Board and the chair of the golf tournament planning committee, said, “As we enter the 19th year of this great event, I reflect back on all of the heartwarming testimonials from the students who have benefited from our hard work. Thanks to Mr. Dixon’s leadership and vision, we’ve helped thousands of students realize the dream of furthering their education at HACC. This event is not just a great day on the golf course but a celebration of HACC, our great sponsors and the students who benefit! On the day of the outing, golfers will get a chance to meet HACC students who were previous scholarship recipients, who will share how the contributions impacted their lives.”

The deadline for sponsorships and donations is Sept. 4.
