Current social issues – prejudice, bullying and revenge – addressed on stage
  HARRISBURG, Pa. – HACC's Theatre for Young People presents Joanna Halpert Kraus' “The Ice Wolf,” an exciting, authentic tale that incorporates striking and visually dynamic images to explore the destructive harm caused by prejudice, bullying and revenge. This theatrical experience will come to life on Nov. 21, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Rose Lehrman Arts Center on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.

Directed by Brenda Eppley, HACC theater professor, “The Ice Wolf” takes place long before the appearance of Caucasians to Native American Indians. The story centers around Anatou, a pale-haired child from an East Coast Bay Inuit tribe who was exiled for being different.

The cast of “The Ice Wolf” includes Giulia Einhorn, as Anatou; Jesse Zeigler, as Storyteller; Neil Grover, as Atata; Josh Harrigan, as Karvik; Caitlyn Davis, as Arnarqik/Ermine; Brian Snyder, as Kiviog; Deja Hunter, as Villager 1; Quinlynn Wingeard, as Villager 2; Matthew Mercado, as Tarto; Erin Anderson, as Shkikanaq/Beaver; Hope Rohrbaugh, as Motomiak/Fox; and Bobby Belche, as Wood God.

“The Ice Wolf” will be performed for the public on Nov. 21, 2015, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10, and the production is appropriate for third-grade students and older. The cast will spend the week leading up to Saturday’s matinee performing for elementary school groups in a theatre outreach.

Since 1989, Theatre for Young People has provided an affordable venue for area young people to celebrate and gain exposure to theatre.
