COVERAGE: HACC President John J. “Ski” Sygielski, Ed.D., will confer degrees, diplomas and certificates to HACC students.

Among the graduates are:

HACC’s Gettysburg Campus student Rebecca Laptook. Laptook, a non-traditional student, has faced many obstacles prior to HACC.  With learning disabilities and not having stepped foot in a classroom in almost 20 years, she felt she would be at a disadvantage in college. However, she has proven herself wrong and reached her goal of earning an associate degree in paralegal studies with honors.

“I have had so many moments that filled me with joy and pride that it would be difficult for me to choose which one made me the most proud. If I had to choose one moment though, I believe it will be when I hear my name called at graduation,” said Laptook.

Following graduation, she will begin her second internship in paralegal studies.

Anaida Martinez, a Lancaster Campus student from the Dominican Republic. Graduating with an associate degree in business administration, she is thankful for her experiences at HACC. Arriving at college, she was shy and didn’t see herself getting involved on campus. At graduation, she will be smiling proudly as a student leader of the campus’s ambassador program, a tutor for various subjects including English as a Second Language, vice president of the campus’s International Club and member of Phi Theta Kappa. Martinez plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in aviation business administration.
