HARRISBURG, Pa. – HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, shares recent news and events with the community, including:
  • New Programs, Scholarship Opportunities Coming to HACC’s Lebanon Campus

New Programs, Scholarship Opportunities Coming to HACC’s Lebanon Campus
 
New programs with degree options in new and growing industries and scholarships to support payment of these programs are being offered at the Lebanon Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
 
These five new programs cover a wide range of options from the medical field to culinary arts with all classes held at the Lebanon Campus. They include:
 
  • Personal Trainer Program
    • Starting May 19, students will prepare to become an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certified personal trainer during the 15-week program. The program includes classroom and online instruction and a seven-week internship. Tuition is $3,050. For more information, please visit hacc.edu/CPT.
  • Physician Office Assistant Program
    • Starting May 23, students will prepare for a career in a primary care, specialty practice or a contact/access center. The program includes a four-week unpaid internship. Tuition is $2,295. For more information, please visit hacc.edu/POA.
  • Culinary Arts Program
    • Starting June 7, students can acquire basic culinary skills through this 16-week, hands-on program. The program includes the ability to sit for ServSafe certification, which is required for many entry-level culinary positions. Tuition is $2,845. For more information, please call 717-221-1352.
  • Pharmacy Technician Program
    • Starting July 6, students will prepare to work with registered pharmacists in a retail or hospital pharmacy during the seven-month program. Tuition is $1,825. For more information, please visit hacc.edu/PharmTech.
  • Medical Billing and Coding Specialist Program
    • Starting Aug. 2, students will learn how to code medical records, file insurance claims and more in this 10-month program. Classes are held two nights per week. Tuition is $2,986. For more information, please visit hacc.edu/BillingCoding.

To help support the payment of the classes, the Francis J. Dixon Foundation is providing partial scholarships for these programs at the Lebanon Campus. The Dixon Foundation will reimburse 25 percent of the total tuition upon successful completion of the entire program.

HACC’s Lebanon Campus Offers Microsoft Community Connections Seminar
 
The Lebanon Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, is offering free Microsoft seminars to the College and local community this month, including:
 
  • Intro to the Cloud
    Date: May 19, 2016
    Time: Noon
    Location: Room 114
     
  • Intro to Excel
    Date: May 25, 2016
    Time: 5:30 p.m.
    Location: Room 306

Intro to the Cloud will provide information about the basics and benefits of using Microsoft Cloud at home, work or on the go.
 
Intro to Excel will provide basic information with step-by-step instructions on how to use Microsoft Excel to organize home or business affairs.
 
The seminars will be taught by HACC alumnus Robert C. Yeagley, president and co-founder of Eagle Secure Solutions, LLC in Lebanon, Pa. Yeagley has provided computer training and IT solutions since 2004 and is certified as a Microsoft certified professional, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA security+ professional.

Elected Officials Join in Legislative Roundtable at HACC’s Gettysburg Campus
 
The Student Government Association (SGA) of the Gettysburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, hosted the annual Legislative Roundtable on April 21, 2016, with area elected officials participating.
 
Pennsylvania Sen. Rich Alloway, Representatives Dan Moul and Will Tallman and Adams County Commissioner Randy Phiel fielded questions from moderators Alexa Groft, SGA president, and Chad Koontz, SGA vice president. The panel discussion gave HACC students and employees the opportunity to gain insight from area elected officials.
 
This is the seventh year in which the campus SGA has sponsored a legislative roundtable. The first roundtable was held in April 2010.
