New Art Exhibits to Open at HACC Galleries
HARRISBURG, Pa. – Art exhibits opening in October 2016 at the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, include “Recent Works” by Sean McConnor in the Rose Lehrman Art Gallery and “Branching Patterns” by Emily Hampson in the Fenêtre Gallery at HACC’s Midtown Trade and Technology Center.
‘Recent Works’ – Oct. 10-Nov. 11
McConnor, a renowned painter whose works have been exhibited in numerous national and regional exhibitions, finds inspiration through simple arrangements of everyday objects including flowers and household items.
He will give a free public lecture on Oct. 20 at 5:30 p.m. in Whitaker Hall, Room 214, at HACC’s Harrisburg Campus followed by an artist’s reception in the Rose Lehrman Art Gallery.
McConnor, a professor of art at Thiel College, Greenville, Pennsylvania, teaches all levels of painting and drawing.
‘Branching Patterns’ – Oct. 14-Nov. 11
HACC artist-in-residence Hampson of Harrisburg says her ceramics are inspired by nature and resemble vein-like systems, which she calls “branching patterns.”
The public is invited to attend an artist’s reception in Fenêtre Gallery on Oct. 21 from 6-8 p.m.
The art galleries at HACC received state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth, and from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
