GETTYSBURG, Pa. – A free community forum on heroin awareness will be held at the
Gettysburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, on June 9, 2016, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Robert C. Hoffman Community Room.
“The forum is meant to raise awareness of the rise in heroin use in the region and provide an opportunity for community members to air their concerns and ask questions,” said Jessica Knouse, task force education chair and director of student development at HACC.
The forum, which is organized by the Adams County Heroin Task Force, will include a panel of:
- Parents of substance abuse survivors
- Individuals who have completed rehabilitation programs and are in recovery
- Representatives from the medical community, law enforcement, criminal justice, crisis intervention, counseling services and education
