Robert Patierno’s exhibit opens Jan. 9, 2017, in the Art Space
Dec. 15, 2016
LANCASTER, Pa. – “Works on Paper,” a collection of woodblock and linoleum prints by artist Robert Patierno, will open Jan. 9, 2017, in the Art Space in the East Building of the Lancaster Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.

“Art making is my attempt to create order of chaos, so in this sense my work is observations in nature,” said Patierno, who will discuss his work during a reception Jan. 25 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The exhibit will be on display through Feb. 22. The reception and the exhibit are free and open to the public.

A co-founder of the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design, Patierno spent over two decades developing its Fine Arts Department before leaving in 2003. He currently is an adjunct professor in the Art and Art History Department at Gettysburg College and continues to produce new art in many mediums.

His work is in several permanent collections and has been exhibited in museums, galleries and institutions across Europe and the United States, including the Royal Museum of Fine Arts and the Frans Masereel Centrum, both in Belgium, and the Erie Art Museum in Erie, Pennsylvania. Big Ink, a woodcut company in New York City, recently honored Patierno by displaying his large woodcut, “Nursery Tree.”

Art Space hours are Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information, please contact Ilene Rosenberg at 717-948-1806 or irrosenb@hacc.edu.
