LANCASTER, Pa. – “Playgrounds, Pencils, Pens and Panopticons,” an exhibit of works by Clay Harris, opens Aug. 20, 2018, at HACC’s Lancaster Campus Art Space. An artist reception is scheduled in the Art Space Sept. 5 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Both the exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
In the 1990s, Harris was a character designer at MTV and worked with animator, writer and producer Mike Judge. Harris illustrated and designed a graphic novel, The Legend of Jow Lung, in collaboration with the Hung Tao Choy Mei Leadership Institute in Washington, D.C. For several years he worked as a studio cartooning instructor and afterschool arts instructor for Pyramid Atlantic Art Center in Hyattsville, Maryland.
Harris has an associate degree in computer animation from Montgomery College, Rockville, Maryland, and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, New Mexico. He also attended Pratt Institute’s Master of Fine Arts program in graphic design and illustration.
