Celebrate Bernstein’s 100th Birthday with Live at Rose Lehrman

HARRISBURG, Pa. – In a world full of division, Leonard Bernstein, composer, conductor, educator and humanitarian, sought peace and celebrated beauty. Bernstein used the stories and inspiration of music to connect diverse individuals on a basic human level.

“This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before.” – Leonard Bernstein

To celebrate Bernstein’s 100 years and his musical inspiration, Live at Rose Lehrman will join with Curtis on Tour in “A Celebration of Leonard Bernstein” March 15, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.

Patrons are invited to join a pre-show discussion of Bernstein’s work at 6:30 p.m. in the Studio Theatre of the Rose Lehrman Arts Center.

Bernstein, a 1941 Curtis Institute of Music graduate, will have his works – classical to Broadway – showcased with those of Aaron Copland and George Gershwin and performed by Curtis on Tour alumni and musicians.
