HARRISBURG, Pa. - Ivan and Christine “Chris” Sears donated $25,000 to the
HACC Foundation to establish the Ivan and Christine Sears Fund for Excellence for the Harrisburg Promise.
Their generous contribution will provide funding for the
Harrisburg Promise, a partnership between HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, the City of Harrisburg and the Harrisburg Housing Authority, to create pathways to postsecondary education for at-risk youth in grades 7-12 in the Harrisburg and Steelton-Highspire school districts.
The Sears are HACC alumni, longtime residents of the area and respected community leaders. Prior to earning their degrees at HACC, Ivan graduated from John Harris High School, and Christine graduated from Steelton-Highspire High School. They are proud to support HACC and the work being done to serve the individuals and families in the same neighborhoods where they were raised.
