HARRISBURG, Pa. – HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, has entered into a sublease agreement with the Pennsylvania STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) Academy Charter School for space in the Midtown Trade and Technology Center.

The academy plans to offer pre-kindergarten through second grades in September 2019 at Midtown 2 on the third floor and portions of the first and second floors.

“This sublease agreement will benefit both organizations by using underutilized space and generating revenue for the campus,” said HACC President John J. “Ski” Sygielski, Ed.D.

The agreement accelerates the relocation of some current College programs housed in Midtown 2. Specific details will be shared near the beginning of next calendar year.

As previously announced, HACC’s Harrisburg Campus is developing plans to relocate all programs and services in Midtown 2 by June 22, 2022, when the College’s lease from Greenworks Development expires.

“No trade and technology programs at HACC will be cut as a result of the relocation,” said Sygielski.

“HACC remains strongly committed to the Midtown area with the College’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education and credit welding programs at Midtown 1,” said Sygielski.
