‘Gettysburg Watercolors’ Coming to HACC
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – A series of Gettysburg-themed watercolor paintings by HACC alumnus and local artist Tom Rooney will be on display at HACC’s Gettysburg Campus Jan. 4-March 1, 2019.

Rooney’s exhibit is presented in collaboration with work by local filmmaker and photographer Kyle Maier, whose love of night photography matches Rooney’s vibrant use of color.

Rooney and Maier will deliver brief remarks during a reception in the campus’s art hallway on Feb. 12 at 10:45 a.m. Both the exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.

Rooney, a self-taught artist, lives in Fairfield. He completed the Paramedic Program at HACC in 1996 and worked for many years as a paramedic at Gettysburg Hospital. In 2013, he founded Gettysburg Watercolors, a small business that produces and distributes limited edition prints, posters and greeting cards of his original art.

Maier grew up in Gettysburg and New Mexico. He is smitten by the historic architecture of Gettysburg.
