HACC’s Gettysburg Campus: Members of the community are invited to join the Gettysburg Campus Circle K, the collegiate version of Kiwanis, and campus employees for these activities: Jan. 21 “Martin Luther King Day On” activities include preparing bagged meals for patrons of the Gettysburg Community Soup Kitchen and assisting with a supply collection at a United Way of Adams County event. Jan. 21, 7-8:30 p.m. Circle K members will serve as ushers for the 39th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at Christ Chapel on the Gettysburg College campus. HACC’s Harrisburg Campus: Members of the community are invited to join Harrisburg Campus students and employees for these activities: Jan. 24, 10 a.m. HACC’s Harrisburg Campus Day of Service will celebrate the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as campus employees and students assemble 700 “Care Kits” for students at Butte College, who were adversely impacted by wildfires nearby their location in Oroville, California. Jan. 31, 11:15 a.m.-noon Award-winning singer/songwriter Lea will perform “This is Lea: Songs of the Civil Rights Movement” in the Cooper Student Center. Jan. 31, 12:15 p.m. Lecture, “The increasing role of women in contemporary music, art and entertainment,” in Cooper 209. Both events were developed by Student Development and Multicultural Programs, with support from the Harrisburg Diversity Committee. Feb. 6, noon “Barry Scott: A Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.” Actor, writer, producer, director, motivational speaker and voice over artist, Barry Scott will be perform in the Rose Lehrman Arts Center theatre. Scott is an authority on the life and works of King. This event was developed by Student Development and Multicultural Programs, with support from the Harrisburg Diversity Committee and the Rose Lehrman Arts Center.
