Start YOUR St. Patrick’s Day Celebration Early at HACC’s Live at Rose Lehrman
HARRISBURG, Pa. – Hailing from Ireland, Danú is returning to the Live at Rose Lehrman stage March 16, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. at the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.

Danú is no stranger to Live at Rose Lehrman. In November 2011, they brought the stage to life during a sold-out Celtic holiday celebration. This visit brings their 25th anniversary St. Patrick’s Day tour to ring in the holiday the traditional Irish way.

For over two decades, Danú’s master players of flute, tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion and bouzouki as well as vocalists (Irish and English) have performed around the globe and recorded seven critically acclaimed albums.

HACC Announces Fall 2019 Full-Time Dean’s List
HARRISBURG, Pa. – HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, has named 1,458 students to the fall 2019 full-time dean’s list.

The full-time dean’s list, which is available online, recognizes students who achieved a 3.25 GPA or higher in college-level classes and completed a minimum of 12 credits during the fall 2019 semester.
 

HACC Presents Paintings by Philadelphia Native
HARRISBURG, Pa. – An exhibition of paintings by Peter Van Dyck will be on display Feb. 24-March 19, 2020, in the Rose Lehrman Art Gallery on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
 
The artist will discuss his work March 19 at 5:30 p.m. in Whitaker Hall, Room 214, with a reception immediately following in the gallery. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.
 
Philadelphia native Van Dyck studied painting and drawing at the Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy, from 1998-2002, and taught in the program from 2000-02. He returned to Philadelphia in 2002 to paint in his own studio and began exhibiting his work in numerous group shows in Philadelphia, New York and San Francisco.
 
In 2012, Van Dyck was named one of 25 Important Artists of Tomorrow by American Artist magazine. In 2013, his work was included in the book “Painted Landscapes, Contemporary Views.” His work has also been reproduced in periodicals including American Artist, American Arts Quarterly, Art News, American Art Collector, International Artist, and Art and Antiques.

Gallery hours are Monday-Friday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-7 p.m. or by appointment.

HACC, Bloomsburg University Partnership Offers Local Transfer Opportunity
HARRISBURG, Pa. - HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, and Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg will continue a five-year partnership to support HACC students and alumni. 

The partnership allows HACC graduates who complete an associate degree program in career-focused majors such as computer information systems, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning/refrigeration (HVAC/R), and industrial technology to transfer their 60 earned credits to Bloomsburg University to complete a Bachelor of Applied Science in Technical Leadership (BATSL) degree without leaving Harrisburg. HACC students can move directly into this program with automatic acceptance after completing their HACC degree.
 
Classes are held online or in the evenings allowing more flexibility for work and family commitments. In-person classes are held at the Dixon University Center on North Second Street and at HACC’s Harrisburg Campus. Part-time and full-time options are available.
 
Courses in the BATSL program include, essential skills for technical leaders, project management, leadership, intercultural communication, and leading virtual work teams.
 
Interested students are encouraged to attend an information session on Feb. 19 or April 22. Both sessions will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Bruce E. Cooper Student Center Room 209B on HACC’s Harrisburg Campus. Registration is not required.
