HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, was established in 1964. We are the first and largest of Pennsylvania's 15 community colleges. HACC is the sole institution of its kind serving the Central Pennsylvania region.

Does HACC have a library?
As part of the Learning Commons, HACC has a library on each campus and online. HACC Library offers:
- HACC librarians provide support and information literacy instruction in-person and online. HACC librarians teach more than 6000 class sessions each year and offer research support via email, chat and by appointment.
- Quiet study spaces, study rooms available by reservation, and easy access to wrap around services from User Support, Tutoring and Testing.
- Access to on-campus computers and a variety of equipment for short and long term loan for student use.
- Online resources, including more than 90 academic databases, over 500,000 electronic books, journals, streaming media and research guides.
- In-person services on each campus and access to over 120,000 print books and journals.
Is HACC accredited?
- The Middle States Commission on Higher Education accredits HACC. The Commission granted initial accreditation in April 1967, and accreditation was last reaffirmed in 2018.
- The Pennsylvania Department of Education authorized HACC to award associate degrees.
- Specific programs receive national accreditation. Some programs have earned special accreditation.
What is workforce development?
HACC serves businesses and individuals in the community by providing:
- Apprenticeship Programs

- Customized training opportunities
- English as a Second Language (ESL) programs
- General Educational Development (GED) preparation
- Hands-on learning experiences
- Skilled training opportunities for high school seniors
- Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA) training
HACC has offered workforce development for more than 40 years. This includes non-credit training in:

- Industry safety and quality
- Information technology (IT) and computer applications
- Manufacturing
- Professional development
- Public safety training to include fire training, law enforcement training and emergency medical services training

What credentials can I earn from HACC?

HACC offers approximately 100 programs.
Will my credits transfer if I want to transfer to a four-year school after HACC?
HACC has agreements with colleges and universities throughout the region. These agreements allow students to transfer from HACC to another institution.
Can I receive a reduced tuition rate if I am a Pennsylvania resident?
- Many students can receive the in-state tuition rate. You must be a Pennsylvania resident for at least one year.
- To receive a sponsored tuition rate, you must reside in one of the 22 sponsored school districts.
