About the Fund
HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, has outstanding students enrolled in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs that are bound to make a lasting impact in their future jobs and the community.
The Fund for Excellence for STEM will ensure our students are using the most advanced technology and are participating in the most innovative programs that maximize their learning and prepare them for careers in their fields.
Impact
YOUR support of the Fund for Excellence for STEM will help HACC to prepare our students through initiatives such as:
- Develop Open Educational Resources – Textbooks in the STEM fields are very expensive. HACC faculty are willing and able to develop open educational resources (OER) in the STEM programs to reduce textbook costs for students, many of whom are struggling to pay for their educational journeys.
- Enhance Remote and Online STEM Courses – Remote and online learning is likely to continue to be a preferred modality for students to engage in higher education in the future. HACC faculty can deliver high-quality learning experiences for students through distance education and can expand the number of courses offered in this modality through funds for curriculum development, simulation software, and lab kits.
- Update Skilled Trades Technology – The technology used in the skilled trades continues to evolve. We can assure students of the training they need on current technology in fields that are expected to continue to grow.
