HACC offers training and testing for individuals aspiring certification to inspect vehicles in accordance with regulations established by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
This is a one-hour testing session designed for students to demonstrate that they meet the requirements to conduct Pennsylvania’s state safety document reviews and process reconstructed vehicle titles. $40 (Cost is subject to change).
What can I do with Pennsylvania enhanced vehicle inspection in the workforce?
Upon successful completion of the examination, students’ records will be forwarded to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), along with a recommendation for certification. This certification is issued by PennDOT, not HACC. Students will then be issued their safety inspection identification card. They cannot perform enhanced inspections without this card.

The safety inspection training course informs students of the regulations, procedures and requirements concerning Pennsylvania’s safety inspection of vehicles. This course also provides the opportunity to complete the state certification exam for Pennsylvania safety inspections. This course is for cars and light trucks only. Additional categories require additional tests and fees. A valid driver’s license is required for each category of testing. $220 (Cost is subject to change).
