Why is there an admissions application fee?
Over the past few years, higher-education institutions across the nation have received an influx of fraudulent admissions applications. The admissions application fee is one of several strategies employed by the College to decrease fraudulent application activity. HACC students are encouraged to apply for financial aid, scholarships and tuition giveaways to receive financial assistance throughout their time at the College.

I can’t afford the application fee. What are my options?
Application fee waivers are available for students who meet specific criteria. Please contact start@hacc.edu for more information.

What if I applied previously but didn’t take classes? Do I have to reapply and pay another admissions application fee?
If you previously applied to HACC within the past five years but didn’t register for classes, you do not need to reapply for admissions. Instead, you should log into your HACC admissions account and update your start term. Instructions are available on your admissions account home page. You will not incur another admissions application fee if you follow the change of term instructions.

What if I am a returning or continuing HACC student? Do I have to reapply and pay another admissions application fee?
If you took classes at HACC within the past five years, you do not need to reapply for admissions. You will meet with your academic advisor to get help registering for your classes. You may need to change your major. You will not incur an admissions application fee.

If you took classes at HACC longer than five years ago, you will need to reapply for admissions and pay the admissions application fee.

What if I am a dual enrollment high school student and want to continue my education at HACC after I graduate?
You will complete a change of major form in your myHACC account to change your major from dual enrollment to the program major of your choice. You will NOT pay the application fee.

Can I request a refund for an admissions application fee if I submitted a new admissions application in error?
HACC is not offering refunds for admissions application fees.
