“If I had one piece of advice for an individual trying to choose a college, I would tell them to seriously consider attending a community college for the first few semesters of their college career.”
Hannah Strobert has been working in the food and beverage industry since she was old enough to get a job and wanted to further her education in order to someday run her own restaurant.
The university where Hannah started out did not offer the program to make this goal possible, so she moved to Central Pennsylvania, transferred credits and set out to get her degree in hospitality and tourism management.
Hannah admitted that when she transferred to HACC, she “had a horrible GPA and I was not serious about anything in my life.” Soon, though, Hannah was seeing her name on the dean’s list. She also joined the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
“I definitely got the motivation I needed from HACC,” she said. “I’ve come so far and my ongoing ability to deliver positive results constantly drives me to keep being successful.”
Hannah received her associate degree in 2015.
