Did you know you may owe funds back to the Federal Government, even if you already received a refund? The Government may recalculate your financial aid due to class withdrawal or lack of class attendance. This could result in a balance due to HACC. You may experience financial holds if you owe a balance to HACC. These holds can prevent you from:
Fall 2024 | |
Sept. 18, 2024 | Initial fall financial aid refunds received for POT 1 and 2 classes** |
Sept. 30, 2024 | Financial aid refunds received for POT L classes** |
Nov. 12, 2024 | Financial aid disbursement refunds received for POT 3 classes** |
**HACC must verify your enrollment before we apply your financial award to your bill. Federal student loans will pay after students’ attendance is confirmed in the 6th eligible credit** *** Federal regulation requires a 30-day disbursement delay for first-time, first-year borrowers of Direct Subsidized and Direct Unsubsidized loans. |

Due to FAFSA Simplification and the Grant Us modernization, Fall PA State Grant awards are expected to be received after the new year. At this time, estimated eligibility awards should be sent via email to students by PA State Grant in November. Students who meet the Fall State Grant eligibility criteria will receive their Fall awards retroactively. Find more information about PA State Grants here.

* Students receiving a loan for only one semester will receive two disbursements of loans at 50% each.
** Please do not contact HACC prior to date(s) noted above to ask about your financial aid refund. This slows the refund process.**
If you have questions about your refund preference, or need assistance with activating your BankMobile account, please contact the Cashiering office at cashiering@hacc.edu.
You can sign up for mobile text alerts to notify you when HACC disperses your refund. BMTX, Inc. will use your selected refund preference to disperse your refund.
